Hope Solo, star goalkeeper of the U.S. Women’s national team, will face domestic violences charges after an appeals court on Friday reversed a decision to throw out the case.
Controversy about the charges flared during the World Cup, when Solo helped lead the team to the title and responded by saying she was the victim in the incdient and the case had been dismissed. But now she will be facing charges yet again.
Stemming from a 2014 incident at the home of her half-sister, Solo initially faced two counts of domestic violence in the fourth degree. The half-sister, Teresa Obert, and Obert’s son, then a minor, said Hope attacked them during the incident.
No trial date has been set.
